Blackboard Users - Here’s a handy checklist to use each semester:




_____ Have I Created a New Course Shell?
_____ Have I Copied the Old Course Into the New Course?
_____ Have I Made the New Course Available?
_____ Have I Turned Off the Old Course?

HOW TO CREATE A NEW COURSE SHELL:

Go into MySite >  Work >  Faculty Services >  Current Schedule > Ticket Number > Manage > Create New BB Account > a message should appear that it was successful and should be ready by a time.

Once the course has been created from MySite:

HOW TO COPY FROM YOUR OLD COURSE INTO YOUR NEW COURSE:

Go into BB > Select the Old Course > Control Panel > Course Copy > Materials Into an Existing Course > Browse > Search > Find the new course (e.g. 20093_ticket) > Select > Click the Checkboxes for each item you want to copy > Submit.

Now you want to let your students see it.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR COURSE AVAILABLE:

In BB, select the course and go to Control Panel >  Settings > Course Availability > Yes > Submit

Then you want to make sure your old course is unavailable.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR COURSE UNAVAILABLE:
Go into the old course > Settings > Course Availability > No > Submit
